Abstract
This paper presents a novel approach to geometric modeling by integrating the C-K theory (Concept-Knowledge theory) into the design process, specifically targeting applications in additive manufacturing (AM) and reverse engineering (RE). The approach is centered on a creative-knowledge-based algorithm that facilitates the generation of geometric models from analytical point clouds. By leveraging C-K theory, the framework enhances the creative process, allowing for the iterative expansion of knowledge and the refinement of concepts through the dynamic interaction between the Concept and Knowledge spaces. The analytical point cloud creation algorithm is applied to model a honeycomb structure and part of a fractal, demonstrating the flexibility and precision of the method in creating complex geometries. This study illustrates the effectiveness of combining theoretical frameworks with computational tools to improve the design and production process in advanced manufacturing systems.
